Meet Emily

Emily MacDonald, MC, CCC, approaches therapy with a solution-focused and strength-based mindset. She aims to help people use their strengths to create the future they desire and collaborates with clients to find ways to cope with the challenges they face. She provides services for teenagers and adults addressing a diverse range of concerns, including anxiety, self-esteem, emotional regulation, burnout, and more.

She uses a wide range of therapeutic techniques and activities to tailor each session to the unique needs of her clients. Approaches Emily draws from include Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). Emily incorporates creativity in sessions through art, movement/somatic practices, and mindfulness-based techniques. She believes in the strong connection between mind, body, and environment and brings this perspective into her work.

Creating a judgment-free space is a priority to ensure clients feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Emily often compares life to a boat navigating a stormy ocean and invites clients to work together to navigate those rough waters.
